▼ 지모신 프리가 여신의 기도문

Hail to Frigga, careful one, sharp-eyed one,
friend of mothers, protector of children,
all-knowing goddess, all-watchful goddess.

You know the love of parent for child,
you know it is unshakeable, goddess,
you know it is everlasting.

Frigga,

you know the joy of watching a child grow
into a fine man or woman, you know
the bittersweet pain of parting, you know
what is in a mother’s soul.

Frigga,
grant me a firm hand and a soft heart,
grant me understanding, grant me clarity,
grant me peace of mind in troubled times,
grant me the strength to bend with the storm
and emerge unbroken.

Frigga, goddess,
grant my children the wisdom to choose wisely,
grant them the strength to stand firm against folly,
grant them the will to face any challenge,
grant them the wit to find their way in life.

Beloved Frigga, defender of families,
keep my children safe from harm, goddess,
ward them as they travel through the world.

▼ 프리가 여신과 권속여신 기도문

Hail to Frigga, mistress of the home and those within,
beloved lady of the hall, kind-hearted goddess
whose cool hand smooths the brow of the fevered child,
who comforts women in their travail, who grants
the gift of harmony and order to the house.
Friend of mothers who shares our joys and sorrows,
shield of the family, Frigga, I call to you.

Hail to mindful Saga, merry-hearted goddess,
wise and knowing mistress of deep-seated Sokkvabekk
teller of tales, drinker of strong ale and sweet mead,
granter of honeyed songs and well-spoken hails,
granter of eloquence, builder of discourse,
friend of the poet, the rhymer, the bard. Saga
of the pen, Saga of the word, I call to you.

Hail to Eir, best of physicians, best of nurses,
merciful goddess, healer of the wounded,
the feeble and the frail. Eir who sits upon
the healing hill, Eir who shelters the needy,
savior of the sick, maker of salves and healthful
remedies, with your soft voice and gentle touch
we soon grow whole and hale. Bright Eir, I call to you.

Hail to fair-haired Gefjon, goddess of the furrow,
wise one, knowing one, goddess who sees the ways
of Wyrd, for all the use that is to any being,
clever goddess who gladly fooled King Gylfi
and took the best of the old Dane’s land. Mother
of strong sons you are, and yet a maid beside,
and care of maids is yours. Gefjon, I call to you.

Hail to Fulla of the flowing hair, dear sister
of noble Frigga who holds close the ashen chest
of Asgard’s queen, who holds close her dearest secrets.
Singer of charms, granter of abundance, Fulla
who carries words of import and discretion,
Fulla who runs with swift and silent feet, who speaks
with Frigga’s voice. Clever Fulla, I call to you.

Hail to kind-hearted Sjofn, who of love knows much,
who knows of hearts opened and souls merged, who knows
of the bond of affection on which family
is built, who knows of the devotion that holds
lovers together through good times and bad. Sjofn,
maker of matches, easer of the work of love,
granter of happiness. Sjofn, I call to you.

Hail to brave Lofn, whose spirit mild yet resolute
makes clear the road to love when trouble or obstruction
has barred the way, when fear or spite has denied it.
Gentle Lofn, untangler of knots, remover
of hindrances and snags, with steady step you lead
sweethearts and lovers into blessed marriage,
you stand against the foes of love. Lofn, I call to you.

Hail to Var the oath-keeper, whose name we give
to those weighty words we offer to the well,
whose blessings come to those who are true to their word,
whose vengeance falls on those who break that sacred bond.
Var, friend of the faithful, who hears all promises,
who stands behind all pledges, who guides us
toward honesty and honor. Var, I call to you.

Hail to wise and knowing Vor, careful goddess,
ever watchful, ever wary, ever seeking
the truth of all things. Cunning goddess, clear-eyed one
who sees what is, from whom no secret can be kept,
who understands the silences between our words,
Vor who knows much of intent and of action,
our hearts are open to your gaze. Vor, I call to you.

Hail to mighty Syn, guardian of the great gate
of Frigga’s hall, heedful one who bars the door
against all ill, all wickedness, who forbids
the scoundrel and the wrongdoer from entry.
Keen-eyed Syn who knows the good man from the evil,
vigilant goddess who foils the wretch who would win
by means of treachery and lies. Syn, I call to you.

Hail to kind-hearted Hlin, friend of wise Frigga
whose work in the world you do, Hlin whose forewarnings
have saved many a man from defeat and despair.
The chosen of Frigg you ward from all harm, goddess;
you are the refuge of the weak, the champion
of the fearful, the protector of those who cannot
fight and those who cannot flee. Hlin, I call to you.

Hail to Snotra, wisest of the Asynjur,
wise in the ways of the worlds you are, wise too
in the ways of men; you know of custom
and of courtesy, you know the words that open
any door, you know the manner that pleases
kings and princes. Mistress of rhetoric, mistress
of protocol, honey-tongued Snotra, I call to you.

Hail to Gna, goddess of swift journeys, mistress
of nimble-footed Hofvarpnir who rides the winds
and the waves through all the worlds. Herald of Frigga,
you bear the gifts of Asgard’s queen to all who find
her favor, her words you carry with all care,
fleet-flying through storm clouds, touching the tallest trees
you make your way. Bold and fearless Gna, I call to you.

▼ 매월 뉴문마다 켈틱 13월의 여신에게 올리는 기도문

1. 자작나무의 달 1월

On the Moon of the Birch Tree,

White sapling of Frigga,

I pray to her dearest sister Fulla,

Lady of Abundance in all things.

As the birch steps forward into the burned field,

Lady, fill my life with new life, new growth

Springing up from the ashes of my losses.

Let me always believe that there will be

Enough to go around, enough to share

Of anything of true importance in the world.

2. 로안의 달 2월

On the Moon of the Rowan Tree,

Warding Tree with your orange berries,

I call upon Gefjon, Mother of Bulls.

Grant me courage in all things, especially

When I stand alone with no one to aid me,

Staring at a monumental task.

Give me confidence in my own independence

That I might not be dependent on others

Who are not worthy of my trust and need.

3. 애쉬의 달 3월

On the Moon of the Ash Tree,

Pillar of Odin’s ordeal,

I call upon Snotra, Lady of Labors.

Working maiden, lend my back strength

And my hands skill; give me endurance

To do the work that must be done,

Whether that be work of body, hands,

Mind, heart, or spirit. May I learn

To see the work through to the very end,

Be it sweet or bitter on my tongue.

4. 알더의 달 4월

On the Moon of the Alder Tree,

Fire’s friend, source of the finest coals,

I call upon Lofn, Lady of Permission.

Give me leave to love those things

That I was taught that I should not love,

With a fire so fierce that no cruel words

May breach it. May I love who and how I wish,

And most of all, in that list of forbidden loves,

May I, myself, and my own soul

Be as much my beloved as any other.

5. 버드나무의 달 5월

On the Moon of the Willow Tree,

River-guardian, reliever of pain,

I pray to Eir the Healer.

May my limbs be whole, my blood be clean,

My flesh be free of all disease,

My days be long and healthy,

My mind be free of mists and storms.

May you, Lady, grant this gift as well

To all those that I love and honor.

6. 호손의 달 6월
On the Moon of the Hawthorn Tree,

Love’s passion, love’s pain,

I pray to Sjofn the Reconciler.

Thorns strike deep into the heart

With every wrathful word,

Every thoughtless slight, every fear.

Lady, help us to draw each thorn,

Bind each wound, see past the tears

And find again joy in each other.

7. 오크의 달 7월

On the Moon of the Oak Tree,

Steadfast watcher, thunder’s friend,

I call upon Vor the Oathtaker.

May my word be strong as the ancient tree

Upright in the midst of saplings

That bend and sway with the winds

Of opinion, of feeling, of fear.

Hold me to my vows, even when the burden

Of each commitment is heavy as stone.

8. 훌리의 달 8월

On the Moon of the Holly Tree,

Iron Warrior of the blood-red berries,

I call upon Syn the Witness.

For once vows are made, they must be fought for,

And the hardest enemy of integrity

Lies not without, but within my own soul.

Close the gates of my will against those voices

That whisper and tempt from within,

That would lure me to a more convenient path

Whose road-toll is my own self-worth.

9. 헤이즐의 달 9월

On the Moon of the Hazel Tree,

Meat of bards and skalds,

I call upon Saga the Historian.

Lady who guards the treasure of words

Congealed from the songs of many voices,

Help me to find, among your piled bounty,

The inspiration that I need to keep going,

The right phrase that will echo in my mind,

Bring a smile to my lips, and resolution

To my faltering steps along this my path.

10. 비네의 달 10월

On the Moon of the Grapevine,

Laden with fruits and coveted by animals,

I call upon Huldra the Keeper of Flocks.

Shepherdess, goatherd, you who care for all

Under your wing and give them nourishment,

Help me to tread the fruits of my labor

That feed my own, and may my hands be generous.

May I keep them from devouring my Source

As the goats devour the vine, that those fruits

May fall for them again and again each year.

11. 아이비의 달 11월

On the Moon of the Ivy,

Twisting as the World Serpent,

I call upon Gna the Messenger

Who reaches for the sky in her flight

On the arms of the wind, as the Ivy leaps

Skyward in strong oaken arms.

Lady, let me never ignore the whispered

Words of the Gods, and may my own prayers

Be carried swift and true into their hearts.

12. 리드의 달 12월

On the Moon of the Reed,

Wailing winds over the cold marshes,

I call upon Hlin the Lady of Mourning.

May I learn to mourn with a whole heart

That the sadnesses I bear will not fester within me

But may be released in their own time.

Help me to bury what must be buried

That it may bring fertility to the ground of my life.

Weep with me, Lady, and teach me to bear

The unbearable with grace and dignity.

13. 요정의 달 13월(블루문의 달)

On the Moon of the Elder,

Wisewoman of the Green World,

I call upon Vara the Prophetess.

May my future be revealed to me

In good time, in a way so clear

That I cannot mistake it for my own foolery.

Lady, guide me to my true path

Whatever and wherever that may be.

And help me to be wise enough to see it through.
