According to immemorial traditions that date back to the first, earliest forms of shamanism and magic, the human anatomy is made up of several bodies with the physical body being only the densest of them; then comes the astral and mental bodies of an energetic and vibratory nature transpiring upon the level of thoughts, feelings, and ego; finally, the so-called superior bodies supposedly linked to the soul and to allegedly higher principles of divine orders. The profane Vampiric Paths in general do not concern themselves with the so-called superior bodies, rejecting fully any divine principle prima facie. In the eyes of the adept of the Sinister Path, the selfis the only god who exists. They never cease seeking to transform themselves in order to make the siege of their ego and consciousness more powerful, to the point of making it immortal. It is for this reason that Vampirism can authentically be qualified as the ultimate Path of Self-Deification.

To do so, the Initiates of the Path of the Dragon focus on the astral body. Every human being possesses this astral envelope, although most live without realizing it. It is through this alternative body that humans experience their dreams at night and the phenomenon oflucid daydreaming, i.e., the realistic sensation of being elsewhere and perceiving other places by thought. At the moment of death, this astral body deprived of energy supply gradually disintegrates while the physical body decomposes. The deceased then experiences the phenomenon of the second death, that of the ego. The higher bodies are then sent back into the cycle of life, death, and rebirth to embark on a new existence.

A true practitioner of the Vampiric Arts rejects their doom, and instead employs a magical process to transform his astral body into an eternal vehicle. By making a pact with his predecessors from past ages, he creates a new link in a veritable Vampiric Chain, which extends perpetually and unbroken over centuries, even millennia. This Chain is a reality on the Astral and Energetic Planes, having its own vibratory rate. It serves as an anchor for the Initiates.

Those who certify pacts with the Vampiric Chain see its energy merging with theirs, crystallizing their astral bodies, and anchoring them closer to the Material Plane. The Chain allows the astral bodies of these Initiates, linked to one another, to survive death collectively. The Chain feeds on the energy contained in the blood of the living, thus perpetuating the existence of its members through the ages indefinitely.

It is not, however, an end in itself, but a beginning, a new stage, a rebirth. Freed from the constraints of death, the adept will then freely explore the worlds of the Astral Plane, the side-quests therein, and the Great Void. In discovering new beings and their powers, he will haggle and certify more pacts with them, always learning more from his mentors, always transforming himself further. Evolving away with every step from the mundane status of human being, the adept approaches what is commonly called Godhood, for lack of a more adequate term.

To this is also added a work of mindfulness. To remain lucid on the Astral Plane and to not fall into a state of dormancy or slow disintegration, the adept will train himself to fully inhabit his astral double to make himself perfectly autonomous. He will work to achieve a permanent state of presence and lucidity on the Dream Plane, a capacity that will be necessary for him to understand the illusion of death. The man who really lives in his double never dies, now living according to the laws proper to the double. ★

The Draculean essence flows through the astral body of the adept of the Chain in the vessel of the soul, crystallizing it, and truly transforming it into the Body of Black Light. Through the Chain, the adepts of Vampirism are thus linked to one another like a hive. When one member of the Chain drains bloodessence, they feed the other members of the Chain too, whilst feeding themselves.

At the moment of physical death, the superior bodies of man assimilated to the spirit and soul are separated from the physical envelope and projected onto the Astral Plane, known to Tibetan Buddhists under the name of Bardo.

According to Tibetan Buddhism, this impermanent process lasts about 40 days. This is the process known to European occultists as the second death, whereby the astral body containing the earthly human identity, i.e., ego, personality, and memories, is gradually destroyed.

Depending on his karma, a concept which is to be understood here in a totally amoral way, the soul of man would then orient himself towards his next incarnation according to elements that either attract or frighten him through different visions received in the Plane of Illusion.

However, it would be quite inaccurate to assert that this personality remains identical, because like any individual who is getting older, this personality is constantly evolving and gaining powers.

Your Vampiric body will continue its existence on the Astral Plane, strengthening its will and power over the natural course of years. The eldest Vampires, although remembering their earthly incarnations, are today different entities not limited to our planetary sphere and traveling upon an array of different planes.

In other words, through the Dracul to whom your body is offered during the rite, it is also the consciousness and the powers of the other members of the Chain that you will receive inside yourself.

One specialty of the Vampiric Chain is a power known within the Green Order under the name of Black Fire. To be honest, I do not know the origin of this name, nor if it was used before the foundation of the Order. It is a unique phenomenon, which can only be transmitted during an initiation or self-initiation ceremony, whereby a pact is concluded with the Vampiric Chain.

The Black Fire is the Draculean essence. It is used during most Vampiric High Magick rituals and notably employs the squares from The Book of Abramelin. Lastly, on the Astral Plane they will easily adopt the form of the Strigoi, a hybrid creature halfway between man and bat, a source of terrors and fantasies. ★
